One of the few players in St. Lawrence athletic history to be voted first-team All America honors in two different sports, Tim Smith was a force on defense in both football and lacrosse during his Saint career.

The 1988 Outstanding Senior Male Athlete, Smith earned first-team All America honors as a defensive end in football and a long stick defender in lacrosse as a senior in 1987-88 and was a second-team All America in football and a third-team All America in lacrosse in his junior year. All league and All East in both sports during his career, he captained both teams as a senior and was selected to the North-South Senior All Star game in lacrosse.

He was the leading tackler in football as both a junior and senior and was named the team MVP as a senior. He had 72 solo tackles and 55 assists for 127 total tackles with 13 for loss and 14 sacks as a senior. For his career he had 348 total tackles, 39 for loss, 26.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries, 11 pass breakups and an interception.  In lacrosse, he led a Saint defense which helped the team go 43-21 in his career and was a threat to score as a long stick.

Following graduation, he earned an MBA at Stetson University is now Executive Vice President for Sales and Business Development for Lineage Logistics and lives in Omaha. He and his wife Jennifer, are the parents of three children.
