An outstanding athlete who starred in football, basketball and baseball in each of his four years at St. Lawrence, John Goodrich was named the outstanding all-around athlete in the class of 1940.

A triple-threat in football, he completed 13 of 19 passes against Vermont and was an outstanding runner and kicker during his career. He also helped the basketball team to some outstanding seasons including an 11-5 season his senior year and was a key player in baseball.

He was selected to Kixioc and was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.

A Naval patrol bomber pilot who was lost in action in 1944 over the English Channel, Goodrich had earlier earned the Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry in action at the Bay of Biscay.
