Half of one of St. Lawrence’s outstanding athletic and academic brother acts, Joe Meyer was an All American linebacker, a team leader, an exceptional scholar and a campus celebrity.

He capped an outstanding academic career when he was elected to Omicron Delta Kappa, the national men’s honorary, and was named the winner of the Consler Economics Award as a senior. In addition to being active in other aspects of campus life, he was captain of the football team as a senior and the team’s leading tackler for two seasons. He was selected Little All America at linebacker and was also a standout in baseball.

He and his brother John, another 1988 inductee, played on the same team in Joe’s senior year.

Joe is now a successful financial manager for the Craigie Company and has returned to campus several times to help undergraduates as a career advisor.
