St. Lawrence University Athletics

A Phi Beta Kappa and honors graduate in Physical Education, Ruth Van Wagenen Dimlich was a leader of the Women’s Athletic and Recreation Association throughout her St. Lawrence career.

A four-year member of the WARA board, she served that group as secretary during her sophomore year and was president as a junior and senior. She participated in all of the women’s intramural sports offered at that time, including field hockey, basketball, and volleyball, and was also a cheerleader.

In addition to her athletic activities, she was a member of Mortar Board, Beta Beta Beta and Psi Chi.

She earned her Ph.D. following graduation and is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine Emerita at the Univeristy of Cincinnati Medical Center.
