St. Lawrence University Athletics

Jen White Walden was a three-time NCAA swim championship participant and earned All America in both the freestyle and medley relays as a three-year captain of the women's swim team.

Jen earned All America status as a member of two relay teams in 1987 and turned in a number of record-setting performances during her four-year career. A co-winner of the Outstanding Senior Athlete Award in 1989 she was named the Outstanding Swimmer at the NYSWCAA Championship as a senior after winning four of her five events and qualifying for nationals in three. She was the high scorer in the NYSWCAA meet as both a junior and senior and set the state and St. Lawrence record in the 200 and 400 Individual Medley. She was a St. Lawrence team MVP as a junior and senior.
She also held the SLU records in the 1,000 free and 200 breaststroke and still holds the 400 IM record with her 200 IM mark broken in the 2012 season. She was also a member of the 800 free relay team which set the still standing record in that event in 1987.

In addition to swimming she was active in SLU Phone-A-Thons and did an internship in the Development Office. That involvement led to a positions in the development offices at the Colorado School of Mines and Rutgers and then a position with Ernst and Young as Manager to the Foundation. She is currently with Prudential Financial in Human Resources. The mother of two daughters, Jen is a life member of Girl Scouts and a two troop leader, and a member of the World Foundation of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. She has coached her daughters in soccer and basketball and taught them how to ski. She is also active in her church, charities and St. Lawrence alumni committees.
