The leading scorer in each of his three varsity seasons, Gary Croteau went on to spend 12 years in the National Hockey League, the longest professional playing career of any St. Lawrence graduate.

His 60 career goals ranks among the top ten in St. Lawrence history, and he was a first team ECAC All Star and team captain his senior year. He led his teams to two ECAC Tournament appearances and helped St. Lawrence to 4-6 wins in three seasons.

Now a successful businessman in the Denver area, Gary played for Los Angeles, Detroit, California, Kansas City and Colorado during his dozen NHL seasons and scored 144 goals and 175 assists for 319 points in 684 National Hockey League games.
