A three-year standout in varsity ice hockey and the second all-time goal scorer in St. Lawrence soccer history at the time of his graduation, Al MacCormack produced a record point scoring streak in hockey and helped the soccer team to a conference title and an ECAC tournament appearance.

He set the freshman ice hockey point and assist scoring record in 1971 with 28 goals, 29 assists and 57 points in only 14 games and finished his varsity career with 49 goals and 78 assists for 127 career points. His 49-point junior season was the best for a Saint in ten seasons. At the time of his induction, he ranks 10th all time in soccer scoring with 24 career goals and 12 assists for 60 points and at the time of his graduation was second on the all-time goal scoring list.

Following graduation, he forged a highly successful collegiate coaching career in both soccer and ice hockey. Now the hockey coach and Physical Education Department Chair at Lebanon Valley College, he was New York State soccer Coach of the Year in 1980 and twice was conference Coach of the Year. He coached hockey, soccer and lacrosse at Ithaca College and soccer and hockey at Cortland. He also spent five years as hockey coach at Elmira College in addition to coaching at Lebanon Valley. His soccer teams earned seven NCAA bids and his hockey teams have earned six NCAA appearances.
