Boden Sundell recorded the top result for the St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team in the 7.5-kilometer classic at the Colby College Carnival on Saturday at Quarry Road in Waterville, Maine.
Sundell finished 56th overall, clocking a time of 22:40.8 in the men's 7.5K classic. The two other scorers for the Saints were
Geo DeBrosse and
Carl Morse, who placed 70th and 71st.
Samantha Legate continued to lead the women's team, placing 65th in 27:12.4, while
Stella Powell came in 77th and
Emily Percival placed 83rd.Â
"Boden was happy with today and is working hard and racing better, which is good to see," said head coach
Ethan Townsend. "For the women, I think Sammy is consistently learning how to pace her distance races and has the speed, and is getting better. On both sides some minor improvements are nice to see. I think we can continue to work hard, maintain our good morale, and find ways to move up incrementally"
Both the men's and women's teams placed 11th overall. Combined with the scores from the Saints Alpine team last weekend, St. Lawrence came in 12th place at the Colby Carnival. Â
Up Next: Dartmouth Carnival, Hanover, N.H., January 30-31.
