Prior to St. Lawrence

Powell was a member of the mountain biking and Nordic ski teams at Stillwater Area High School. She placed third at the mountain biking state meet in 2024, earned All-State for Nordic skiing for three years and All-Conference for six years. She also earned All-American honors at Junior Nationals. Powell was a member of the National Honor Society and an honor roll student for four years.
