The St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team competed in the 3x5 classic relays to close out the Williams College Carnival on Saturday at the Prospect Ski Center in Woodford, Vt.
The team of
Samantha Legate,
Stella Powell and
Abby Murphy led the women's 'A' group to a 17th-place finish with a combined time of 54:53.2.
On the men's side,
Boden Sundell,
Oliver White and
Evan Nichols placed 19th with a time of 47:53.8, while
Geo DeBrosse,
Foster Savitsky and
Justin Levesque came in 21st in 48:23.5.
"On the women's side our 'A' team did really well," said head coach
Ethan Townsend. "Sammy had a great opening leg, Stella held strong and helped close the gap and Abby had a great anchor leg to help us beat Williams. The guys had an okay day and had tough opening legs, but Evan did a good job anchoring the 'A' group."
The women's squad placed ninth, while the men placed 11th. Combined with the scores from the Alpine team, St. Lawrence took 10th place overall in the Williams Carnival.
