Samantha Legate recorded a career-best 16th-place finish in the women's sprint to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team at the UVM Carnival on Friday at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, Vt.
Legate recorded a time of 4:17.5, recording the best finish of the day for the Scarlet and Brown.
Abby Murphy and
Berit Meyers also scored points for the Saints, finishing 60th and 70th, respectively.
Geo DeBrosse led the men's team with a 44th-place finish, with a time of 3:42.7.
Evan Nichols posted the next-best result in 62nd and
Nico Alexander placed 73rd.
"Sammy looked really strong today," said head coach
Ethan Townsend. "I think she just had some bad luck in the semifinal. It was also a good day for Geo, getting into the top-50 in the qualifier. Overall, I think it was an okay day, but I'm confident tomorrow will be a better one for most."
The women's team recorded a season-best eighth place finish, while the men placed 11th.
Up Next: 10K Freestyle, UVM Carnival, February 7.
