Lilli Thomas posted the top result for the St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team on day one of the Saint Michael's Carnival on Friday at Sleepy Hollow in Huntington, Vermont.
Thomas recorded a 50th-place finish in the women's 10-kilometer skate with a time of 31:58.30. With two others close by,
Caroline Tarmy finished 53rd in 32:18.70, while
Carli Krebs finished 59th in 32:37.30.
First-year
Evan Nichols led the way on the men's side with a 59th place finish, recording a time of 27:54.60 in the 10K.
Leif Harvey finished 69
th in 28:19.0, while
Justin Levesque,
Geo DeBrosse and
Trevor Aitken finished 70th-72nd, respectively.
"It was a pretty tough day for us today," said head coach
Ethan Townsend "We missed the wax on the men's race and thought we had made the right adjustments for the women's but unfortunately we did not. Looking forward to rebounding with a fun day of relays tomorrow."
After day one, both the men's and women's squad finished the day in 11th place.
