Junior
Alli Sibold won the 1,000-meter race at the Utica Winter Opener to lead the St. Lawrence University women's track and field team on Saturday.
Sibold went through the opening lap in fourth place and steadily moved up until she overtook first place just under the half mile mark and pulled away for a 3:06.05 finish to win by over six seconds.
Sophomore
Maia Wahlquist took second in the high jump. She finished tied for the highest cleared bar at 1.57-meters and lost on a tiebreaker.
In the 3,000 meters, senior
Katherine Sheehy was in seventh with four laps to go and moved up to take third. She was the highest division III finisher, crossing the line in 10:54.91.
Olivia Watson finished sixth in 11:00.87, the third division III finisher.
Hayley Castagnier scored in both the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdle. She took fifth in the hurdles crossing the line in 10.36 seconds, and seventh in the 60 finishing in 8.36 seconds.
Division II Felician won the meet with 108 points. The Saints finished sixth out of 16 teams with 49 points, and were fourth among division III schools.
St. Lawrence travels to Vermont next weekend for the Middlebury Winter Classic.
