Saints Compete Against Northeastern Counterparts on Day 1 at Middlebury

The St. Lawrence University women's swimming and diving team opened the Middlebury Invitational with a focused performance on Friday, highlighted by a strong presence in the distance events.

In the relay events, the Saints showcased their depth during the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet of Amelia Stacy, Kristen Blight, Lilly Mruzik, and McKenna Kraft combined for a collective time of 4:38.28, which earned them a seventh-place finish.

The Saints' distance freestyle duo led the individual efforts in the 1000-yard freestyle, where Garyn Finz secured a fourth-place finish with a time of 11:25.44. She was followed closely by teammate Sophie Nelson, who touched the wall in 11:28.72 to claim fifth place.

St. Lawrence now preps to wrap up the event on the second day of the invite on Saturday.
