The St. Lawrence University men's swimming and diving team delivered a series of strong performances during the opening day of the Middlebury Invitational on Friday.
In the distance events, sophomore
Josh Harris provided a highlight for the Saints in the 1000-yard freestyle, battling to a fourth place finish with a time of 10:25.07.
Facing a competitive field in their final tune-up before the Liberty League Championships, the Saints were led by versatile efforts in both the sprints and distance lanes. First-year standout
Logan Doody paced the Saints in the shorter events, capturing two top-six finishes. Doody took fifth place in the 50-yard butterfly with a sharp time of 24.04 and returned to the pool shortly after to secure sixth place in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 22.82.
These results set a positive tone for the team as they head into the final two sessions of the invitational on Saturday.
