The St. Lawrence University men's swimming and diving team delivered a commanding performance on Friday. The Saints secured a 107-38 victory over SUNY Potsdam, fueled by a series of personal bests and a clean sweep of several individual events.
The Saints showcased their depth from the very first event, winning every contest listed on the day. This dominant showing helps the team improve its standing as the mid-season schedule begins to intensify.
Logan Doody was a force in the pool, finishing as a winner in three events. He led the pack in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:03.99 and followed it up with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:00.07.
Patrick Noonan also claimed two individual titles while demonstrating his versatility. Noonan took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:17.84. He also reached a milestone in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a personal best of 1:10.66.
Josh Harris added to the team's success with a standout performance in the 100-yard butterfly. Harris set a new personal best in the event, finishing in 56.43 to take the top spot. He also contributed a season-best time of 2:06.85 in the 200-yard IM to earn a second-place finish.
Anthony Gabrielli rounded out the individual wins for St. Lawrence. He secured first place in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing with a strong time of 2:01.60. The Saints' success extended to the relay events as well. The team of Doody, Harris, Gabrielli, and Noonan combined for a victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.54.
The Saints will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they continue their campaign with a home meet against Hartwick on Saturday, January 24.
