Arielle Haccoun Choquette opened her Scarlet and Brown career with a 24th-place finish in the women's slalom to lead the St. Lawrence University Alpine ski team on day one of the Colby Carnival at Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine on Friday.

Haccoun Choquette recorded a time of 1:36.55 leading the women's team in 24th place, while Lauren Haerter came in 27th in 1:38.04 and Charlotte Lehr finished 29th in 1:41.47 to put three Saints in the top 30.

All three women's finishers opened the season with EISA career bests, while Haccoun Choquette and Haerter competed in their first EISA carnivals.

"The women did well today and battled through some difficult conditions and get some top 30 results," said head coach Willi Steinrotter. "On the men's side Alec was ninth and Simon was 11th after the first run, but didn't finish off the second. We're all excited for the GS tomorrow."

Jakob Rogers was the lone finisher and a non-scoring skier on the men's side and placed 28th overall with a time of 1:32.01.

The Saints women finished the day in seventh place, while the men landed in 12th.
