The St. Lawrence University women's swimming and diving team earned a fifth-place finish at the Don Richards Invitational hosted by RIT in Rochester, N.Y.
Sophie Nelson won the 1650-yard freestyle in a personal-best time of 18:40.28, recording the only win of the crowded event for St. Lawrence. Faith Rhinehart also competedin the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing 10th in 20:50.17. Garyn Finz placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:26.55, while Scout Huckans took sixth in the event with a personal-best 2:46.66.
The relay of Lilly Mruzik, Ila Musclow, Finz, and Gracie Ringer finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:56.95. Nelson, Ella Kuchman, Mruzik, and Ringer placed fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:49.47.
Musclow finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.51. Mruzik added a sixth-place swim in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:15.68 and a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.81.
Carlyn Rapoport placed tenth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:15.33, and Annie Cyr finished 11th in 1:16.33, marking a five-second personal best.
The Saints return to action with a January dual meet against SUNY Potsdam, when they head down Route 11 on Friday, January 16 for just their second road dual meet of the 2025-26 campaign.Â
