The St. Lawrence University women's swimming and diving team opened its 2025-26 season on the road Saturday, falling to Skidmore 190-41 in the Saints' first dual meet of the year.
Sophie Nelson paced the Saints with a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching in 11:40.83.
Annie Cyr posted a strong start to her season, recording a personal best of 13:47.40 in the same event — a 20-second improvement from her previous mark.
Gracie Ringer led the sprinters with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 59.52.
Kristen Blight and Ella Kuchman also turned in personal-best swims, as Blight finished the 200-yard freestyle in 2:27.23 and Kuchman placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle at 27.37.
The Saints will look to build on their early-season performances next week when they return to action at their home opening meet against Clarkson on October 31.Â
