Caroline Reilly, Marie Bank and Ibadat Javed each posted wins in both singles and doubles competition for the St. Lawrence women's tennis team on the first day of the Ithaca Open on Saturday.

The Open in formatted similar to that of St. Lawrence's North Country Classic the past few seasons, in that each of the competing teams will play one another in both singles and doubles.

The Saints faced Hamilton and Rochester in singles matches, and also took on the Yellowjackets in doubles on Saturday afternoon.

Reilly, Bank and Javed helped the Saints win three of seven matches against the Continentals in singles play, but St. Lawrence was then swept by Rochester in their singles matches against the Yellowjackets. However, the Saints rebounded to sweep the Yellowjackets in doubles play with a pair of tiebreak victories.

Javed was part of two tiebreak wins for the Saints, edging Hamilton's Eleanor Struthers 9-8 (7-0) in singles and also pairing with Bank for a 9-8 (10) win over Rochester's Bianca Dyer and Olivia Waysack.

Carly Jefferson and Haley Sherrard also combined for a tiebreak doubles win with a 9-8 (11) win over the Yellowjackets' Yaya Wang and Abbey Reinhart.
