The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Rensselaer on Saturday, marking the Saints' first loss of the season.

St. Lawrence was unable to claim the doubles point, winning just one of three matches. Ariane Karera and Elisa Iuri provided the bright spot at second doubles, earning the victory over Victoria Sarabosing and Kayla Wheeler 7-6 (7-3), in a tight contest.

Nicole Ridenour and Anushka Jaiswal handled Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and Molly Jespersen 6-1 at the top position, and Gauri Muliyil and Juliette Ceas closed out the point with a 6-4 win over Yvette Karera and Ellie McDermed.

Rensselaer took five of six singles contests. Ridenour and Muliyil had wins at the top, posting a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Jespersen and a 6-0, 6-2 result against Aksdal-Jansen, respectively.

Wheeler defeated Iuri 6-3, 6-1 at third, while Sarabosing and Ariane Karera went three sets at fourth, with Karera prevailing 6-3, 7-5, 10-4. Ceas held off Ariane Karera 7-5, 6-1 at fifth, and Neha Saraswatula wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over McDermed at sixth.
