Senior Yvette Karera and Ariane Karera had a big weekend for the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team, as Yvette has been named the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week, and she was also named to the Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week alongside her sister Ariane, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Yvette Karera was perfect on the weekend, making a run and winning the A singles draw at the Mary Hosking Invitational. The senior began her weekend by beating Grace Magna of William Smith 8-1 before downing RIT's Kai Wells 8-4. She then moved past teammate Elisa Iuri and Ariane Karera to take the A draw. 

After winning the A singles draw of the Mary Hosking Invitational, Yvette teamed up with her sister Ariane in the A doubles bracket. The sister tandem defeated William Smith's Katelyn Gray and Nellis Larson 8-2 before downing Union's Loden Bradstreet and Madelyn Alecia 8-1. An 8-4 semifinal win over Rochester's Lauren Kallas and Noel Allen set things up for a hard-fought 9-8 (7-4) win over Alys Pop and Ava Casell in the final to win the bracket. 

The Kareras and the Saints will be back on the court on Thursday, October 1, when the team closes the Fall at the ITA Northeast Regionals.
