The St. Lawrence men's tennis team won their first road dual match of the season, 9-0, at Bard on Saturday afternoon to improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Saints posted 8-2, 8-1 and 8-0 wins in doubles at No. 1 – No. 3 respectively, with
Paul Barrett and
Kevin Frommer shutting out their Bard opponents in the third position.
The teams of
Robert Schmitz and
Elliot Solandt and
Rhonny Rosario and
Spencer Whitmire were also winners for St. Lawrence.
In singles, Schmitz, Barrett and Frommer won in straight sets, while Solandt was the lone Saint to go three sets with a 5-7, 6-1, 10-8 win at No. 5 over Satchel Fisher.
Dean Sponholz posted a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 1 and
Garrett Sopko won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6 in his first match of the spring.
The Saints will face Hamilton in Clinton, N.Y. on Sunday morning at 10:00 am in their final dual match before they head to California for Spring Break.Â
