The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Ithaca College on Saturday morning at the Newell Field House in Canton, N.Y. The Saints, now 4-8 on the season, controlled the doubles point before the Bombers rallied to win four of six singles matches and claim the match. Ithaca improved to 6-5 with the victory.
St. Lawrence came out of the gates strong in doubles, sweeping all three courts to take the early 1-0 lead. At No. 1 doubles,
Josh David and
Jake David teamed up to defeat Gijs Fidler and S. Lopez-Cardenas, 6-4. At No. 2, the pairing of
Aidan Baracao and
Willem Naughton edged Luis Crespo and Ean Lantzy in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5).

Ithaca flipped the script in singles, however, winning four of six courts to overturn the doubles deficit and claim the match. The Bombers took four straight courts at Nos. 2-5 to seize control. Gijs Fidler handled
Jake David at No. 2, winning 6-4, 6-3, while Luis Crespo topped
Armaan Walia at No. 3 by scores of 6-3, 7-5. Carlos Hernandez was dominant at No. 4, cruising past

St. Lawrence's two singles victories came at the top and bottom of the lineup.
Josh David delivered the biggest win of the day for the Saints at No. 1, outlasting Ivan Kisic in a hard-fought tiebreak match, 7-5, 7-6 (10-8). At No. 6,
Bennett Stout kept his strong day going after his doubles win, sweeping Ean Lantzy 6-4, 6-2 to account for St. Lawrence's other singles point. Despite the loss, the Saints were competitive throughout, with the outcome coming down to which team could convert in the middle of the singles lineup.
Following the conclusion of the matches, seniors
Will de Chabert-Ostland and Baracao were honored by interim head coach
Ezenna Emuka and their teammates in a post-game ceremony for senior day.
