The top-seeded St. Lawrence men's soccer team will take on No. 4 seed Union in the Liberty League semifinals on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. on Sandy MacAllaster Field. The Saints are making their sixth straight appearance in the conference tournament and third straight as the No. 1 seed, while the Dutchmen are playing in their first semifinal since 2012.

The No. 23 Saints come into the matchup having posted their fourth straight shutout last Saturday in the regular season finale with a 3-0 win at Clarkson. All but one of the team's 12 wins has come via the shutout this season. Senior goalkeeper
Ryan Roethel currently leads the league in goals against average (.284), save percentage (.904), while also ranking third and fourth in Division III in those categories, respectively.
Defensively, the Saints bring an experienced back line into the postseason led by senior captains
Harry Copeland and
Dan Hunt. Hunt is tied for third on the team in scoring with nine points (3G, 3A) and Copeland has anchored the defensive corps that has limited opponents to just 7.5 shots per game and only five goals on the season.
Ryan Roche (1G, 3A) has settled into the attacking midfield position as sophomore and he,

Edward Gonzalez (1G, 2A) an first-year
Jethro Dede (4G, 1A) account for eight goals and eight assists this season. Dede has found his scoring touch of late, tallying the game-winning goal in each of the last two regular season wins.

Tapshak Augustine leads the team with 16 points (7G, 2A). Senior
Ryan Grant isn't far behind with five goals and an assist of his own for 11 points in just seven games played. Sophomore

Luis Jimenez with four assists, having set up key goals for St. Lawrence in each of the team's last two games.
Union enters Wednesday's match after having dropped their final regular season contest to Skidmore 1-0, which snapped a three-game win streak. Goalkeeper John Weitzman has registered the most minutes of the team's four keepers this season, as he carries a 7-3-4 record, .74 goals against average and .849 save percentage into the postseason.
Carl Faber leads the Dutchmen in scoring with 10 goals on the year including three multi-goal games, while Ethan Strauss (6G,1A) is the only other player with more than two goals this season. Andrew Fontaine has a team-high eight assists.
The winner of Wednesday's match will face Skidmore in the Championship, as the No. 3 Thoroughbreds defeated No. 2 Hobart, 1-0, in the other semifinal on Tuesday afternoon.
