St. Lawrence University men's soccer players Dennis Argueta, Baker Diaz, and Nicholas Petrone were named Academic All-District selections by the CSC (College Sports Communicators), as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The trio qualified for the honor by having at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, sophomore academic standing or higher, and participating in at least 50% of the team's contests while serving as a key contributor to the team's success in 2025.

Out of the three, Petrone was selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 16, 2025.

A junior from Mount Kisco, N.Y., Argueta started 13 games for the Saints in the midfield and contributed two goals and an assist for five points offensively. One of his goals served as a game-winner.

Diaz, the junior captain defender from Brooklyn, N.Y. led the Saints squad from the back line this past season. The defender was named to the all-Liberty League squad as a member of the First-Team for the second straight season. Diaz started 15 games for the Saints this season and chipped in a goal on the offensive end.

The junior captain Petrone, who hails from Saddle Brook, N.J., was selected to the Third Team in the Liberty League after a season in which he led the team in scoring with 13 points, with a team-high five goals and three assists. Petrone led the team with 25 shots and scored a game-winning goal in 16 starts.
