Union scored the lone goal of the game in the 1-0 final, but the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team still clinched a spot in the Liberty League Playoffs on Saturday afternoon at Sandy MacAllaster Field.
St. Lawrence fell to 6-9 with the loss, and 4-5 in Liberty League play, while the Garnet Chargers improved to 7-5-5 and 4-1-4 in league action.
Prior to the contest, the program celebrated the seven members of the Class of 2026 in captain
Jackson Malary,

Aidan Fauth,
Ryan Campbell,
Ravi Pavana,
Henry Hart, and

St. Lawrence had the better of the chances early in the matchup, getting a pair of shots from
Nicholas Petrone and
Ryan Campbell, forcing Jacob Perry to play strongly early.
Instead, it was the Garnet Chargers that found the back of the net in the 26
th minute when a great pass from Grant Della Rocca found Eamonn Kelley, who fired a right-footed shot off the far post and in for the lead.
Dennis Argueta and Ogango threatened at the end of the first half, but the game was 1-0 at the half.
St. Lawrence dominated possession in the second half, allowing just one shot attempt against, while pouring on nine chances in search of an equalizer.
A shot from
Kyle Reddish, and three from the feet of Campbell found the woodwork in the barrage, but Perry came up with four big saves.
The Saints out-chanced Union 15-5 in attempts, 5-2 in shots on goal, and 6-2 in corner kicks.
Amato made one save in goal, while Perry came up with five.
