The Saints finish off their 2025-2026 season with high marks and a plethora of achievements.
This past week the Saints Overwatch roster defeated Seton Hill to finish third in NECC Nationals among the top 16 teams of Division VI. Joshua "Yashi" Kobayashi, Lola "Favored" Caruso, Melinda "Winterredbull" Tiric, Joses "Kas" Htoo, and Charlotte "Magike" Begel executed the Saints game plan perfectly rebounding off of 2-0 loss on the first game mode, Lijiang Tower. From then on, the Saints kept it clean winning Escort on Watch point Gibraltar, Push on Colloseo, and Flashpoint on Aatlis. It was an emotional match, as Saints Overwatch will be saying goodbye to Joshua Kobayashi, who will be transferring to another institution for next fall. Josh's leadership has helped the Saints achieve so much in the past two years. Esports Coordinator,
Kadin deRuijter, described Josh's ability to connect with fellow students as "mesmerizing", ... "it's like he already has years of coaching underneath his fingertips". While Josh may be leaving the institution, his legacy will remain behind. Josh helped pioneer the young Overwatch roster to St. Lawrence's first ever Conference Championship in Spring of 2025.
With this final week of matches in the bag, the Saints close the book on their 2025-2026 competitive season, finishing with a 58% win rate at 49-35. This year the Saints achieved a third-place finish in NECC Nationals; Saints Rocket League and Saints Overwatch finished in second place in their division last fall; and Saints Valorant finished in second place in their division this spring. Safe to say that the Saints are still gunning to secure their second Conference Championship, and first National Championship, but they are certainly knocking down the right doors. Saints Esports will return in September, as they prepare for their fall 2026 season.
