St. Lawrence Varsity Esports Week Five Recap

Saints Esports sped through week five of the NECC making a strong push towards their postseason play.

Saints Valorant started off the week with a balanced book, winning against Carleton University 2-0 Monday evening, and falling to Queen's University 2-0 Friday night. Saints Valorant looks forward to week six, where they will play New England College, the top seed of their division.

Saints Super Smash Bros had a stellar week with both teams finding their footing. Smash 'A' won 2-0 decisively against New England Tech, and Smash's 'B' team won 2-1 against Marywood University, the top seed of their division.

Saints Rocket League had a bye and will play Indiana University next week.

Finally, Saints Overwatch had a standout performance in their Friday evening match, beating Ithaca 3-1. During this best-of-five series, captain, Joshua Kobayashi, and dynamic duo Melinda Tiric and Joses Htoo on their respective support roles, managed to hold the line, preventing Ithaca from pushing the payload, securing the last game of the series to take the win. Saints Overwatch will continue their campaign this week, to fight for playoff contention.
