St. Lawrence University women's track and field sprinter Ella Baker was named Liberty League rookie of the week for the week ending March 2 following her performance at the conference championship meet on Friday and Saturday.

Baker proved she was among the best in the conference on the straightaway, pulling away for second place in a hotly contested 200-meter dash final, where she placed with a time of 25.75. In the 60-meter dash, she narrowly missed her PR with a time of 7.88, good enough for third overall in the conference.

Baker and the Saints return to action beginning Friday, March 6 at the AARTFC championships in New York City.
