Ella Baker did it again on the straightaway, as the St. Lawrence University women's indoor track and field team capped off the 2026 Liberty League Indoor Championships with more podiums on Saturday afternoon at RIT's Gordon Field House.
"Ella was awesome in both the 60m and the 200m today," said Saints head coach
Kate Howard. "It's exciting to see how she thrives when the chips are down and the level of competition is so deep."
"Overall, we've got a lot to be excited about as we look ahead the the remainder of the indoor season and on to outdoor."
Baker continued her successful first-year season by scoring big for the Scarlet and Brown in both short sprints. In the 200-meter dash, Baker surged to a second-place finish with a time of 25.75. Earlier in the afternoon, Baker claimed third in the 60-meter dash. Her time of 7.88 was just two-hundredths of a second off her own program record (7.86), which she set just one week ago at the SLU Open.
The Saints picked up points in the high jump as
Amelia Berthold and
Cecelia Ballard both cleared 1.48 meters. Berthold took home eighth place based on jumps, while Ballard followed closely in 10
th – narrowly off last week's PR at the SLU Open.
St. Lawrence closed the championship on the track with the 4x400-meter relay. The team of
Ava Machado,
Addison Ash,
Madison Beaudoin, and Berthold combined for a sixth-place finish, crossing the line in 4:13.23.
The Saints wrapped the weekend with a sixth-place team finish in the Liberty League.
They now embark on the AARTFCÂ championships, scheduled for the Armory in New York City.
