Four Saints finished in the top-30, led by a 12th-place finish from
Alec Nolan, as the St. Lawrence University Alpine ski team competed in the slalom on day two of the UVM Carnival on Friday at Stowe Mountain.
Nolan had a solid first run and won the second run of the day, putting together a two-run time of 1:51.29.
Simon Trudeau also scored for the men, finishing 27th in 1:55.42.
Kai Subith was a non-scorer for the Saints and placed 31st.
First-year
Mollie McTigue improved on her career-bests, recording a two-run time of 2:05.01 to finish 24th in the slalom.
Norah Dempsey also skied as a non-scorer and placed 27th in 2:07.02.
"It was a challenging day, but we did have some positives," said head coach
Willi Steinrotter. "Alec finishing 12th and winning the second run of the day was certainly a high point. Mollie had her career-best carnival finish in the slalom, which was also a big positive and Norah and Simon both had solid days."
The men's squad earned an eighth-place finish, while the women finished 11th.
Up Next: Williams College Carnival, Jiminy Peak, February 13-14.
