Three Saints recorded top-30 EISA finishes to lead the St. Lawrence University Alpine ski team on day one of the UVM Carnival on Thursday at Stowe Mountain in Vermont.
Both
Jakob Rogers and
Jacob Foote recorded career bests in the giant slalom finishing in the top 25. Rogers placed 22nd in 2:06.82, while Foote finished with a two-run time of 2:07.01, placing 25th.
Audrey Higgins-Lopez led the women's squad, finishing 28th in 2:14.00, marking the third top-30 finish.
Lauren Haerter nearly made it, placing 32nd in 2:14.71, while
Hazel Howard also scored for the Saints finishing 2:17.23 in 2:17.23.
"It was a tough day for some of the Saints, but we also had a number of athletes have good days," said head coach
Willi Steinrotter. "We'll move forward to the slalom tomorrow with vigor."
The women recorded a ninth-place finish, while the men placed 10th overall.
