The St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team opens the 2026 season at home, hosting the St. Lawrence University Carnival, at Mt. Van Hoevenberg this Sunday and Tuesday.
"The early snowfall and excellent skiing during our November break training camp have the team primed and excited to race," said head coach
Ethan Townsend. "The EISA season will kick off in conjunction with the US National Championships in Lake Placid this Sunday, utilizing the first two events - the 10K classic and Skate Sprint qualifier on Tuesday - as the team carnival score."
"The individual 10K will also count toward NCAA selection and we will also have most on the team competing in the mass start freestyle race on the eighth and the classic sprint on the ninth before returning to campus."
Last season was highlighted by a fourth trip to the postseason forÂ
Emma Strack '25 at the 2025 NCAA Championships. She recorded a 34th-place finish in the 7.5k classic on day one of the post season and skied a time of 53.45.8 to claim 18th in the 20k freestyle to cap off her impressive career at St. Lawrence.
In the team standings last season, the women's team recorded a team high sixth place three times including once on day two at the NCAA Eastern Regionals, while the men's team landed ninth four times across the season.
Nico Alexander is the lone senior for the Scarlet and Brown this season, while

Anika Vandenburgh, and
Oliver White return for their junior campaigns.
Back for their sophomore season with the Saints are

Cassidy Wright.
The Saints strong group of returners will be joined by four new members of the Class of 2029 –
Sarah Hottle (Heber City, Utah),
Abby Murphy (Wilson, Wyo.),
Stella Powell (Marine on St. Croix, Minn), and
Zeb Whitlock (Hyde Park, Vt.).
After hosting their home carnival in the upcoming days, 2026 will take the Saints to the Colby Carnival on January 23-24, the Dartmouth Carnival on January 30-31, the UVM Carnival on February 6-7 and the Williams Carnival on February 13-14.
Middlebury is scheduled to host the final carnival of the EISA slate, which also serves as the NCAA Eastern Regionals on February 20-21 t the Rikert Touring Center in Ripton, Vt.
