The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team closed the 2024-25 regular season by winning four of their final six games, securing the No. 5 seed and earning a spot in the Liberty League Tournament for the third consecutive year. The Saints finished the season with an overall record of 16-10 and went 10-8 in conference play.
"I feel we played close to our potential considering our shooting statistics," said Saints head coach
Dan Roiger. :Our defense was very solid, our rebounding was good, we had low turnovers, and played pretty good offense. Our shooting as a team was very poor, both from inside and outside the arc, and that limited us to 16 wins. I don't feel our shooting was because of poor shots, we had mostly good looks but didn't make enough of them. Our players were recruited because they were good high school shooters, so I know they can make shots but we need to adjust to the college intensity and speed. This past year we didn't make enough of those shots and therefore were a good but not great team."

"This season concludes three in a row where our roster was dominated by underclassmen as we have had significant turnover from our 22-5 team just three years ago. Next year we will have a team that has more upperclassmen and their challenge is to play like veterans and make the shots they have been working on for the past two seasons. This season we laid the foundation to have a successful season next year if we train hard this summer."
St. Lawrence cruised through its non-conference schedule, going 6-1 with its only loss coming against Hamilton. The Saints opened the season with back-to-back home wins over Oswego State and SUNY Potsdam before collecting victories over Plattsburgh State, Wellesley, Westfield State, and Middlebury. They entered December with a perfect 6-0 record after winning the Westfield Gas and Electric Tip-Off Tournament.
In Liberty League action, the Saints swept Clarkson, Bard, William Smith, and Union, while splitting series with RIT and RPI. Head coach
Dan Roiger's team excelled on defense, leading the league in scoring defense (57.1 points per game) and opponent three-point percentage (23.3%), the latter ranking 14th nationally.
In the Liberty League quarterfinal, the Saints faced No. 4 seed RIT on the road. Despite a 27-point effort from senior
Caelan McHarney, St. Lawrence fell 78-68 after trailing 35-25 at halftime, concluding their season.
Sophomore forward
Elizabeth Flynn led the team with 11.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, earning All-Liberty League Second Team honors. She also led the Saints with 41 steals and 16 blocks.
