Hustler, Segedi Selected by Minnesota Frost in 2025 PWHL Draft

St. Lawrence University women's hockey standouts Abby Hustler and Anna Segedi are headed to the next level, as they were both selected by the Minnesota Frost in the 2025 PWHL Draft at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Ontario on Tuesday evening.

Abby Hustler – Minnesota Frost - Round Two | Pick Fourteen

Hustler, an alternate captain for the last two seasons, was picked 14th as a second-round selection for back-to-back Walter Cup Champions, the Minnesota Frost.

"We are all happy for Abby," said head coach Chris Wells. "She has worked very hard to play in the PWHL. She will continue to do the things that she has had success within college at the next level. She wants to be a pro and now she has a great opportunity to enjoy a nice career starting in Minnesota."

The first to be drafted from Prince Edward Island, Hustler played in 154 games for the Saints, scoring 71 goals and adding 87 assists for 158 career points, including 23 power play goals and 10 game winners. As a senior, she earned Second-Team All-ECAC honors and was named St. Lawrence's Martha Finch Outstanding Senior Female Athlete. She led the Saints with 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points, ranking 19th in the country in goals per game and 26th in points. As a junior, she was a Patty Kaz Top-10 Finalist, a Second-Team All-ECAC selection and the Hockey Commissioner's Association National Player of the Month for January. She ranks sixth on the PJ Flanagan '80 Century Club all-time points list with 158 points and seventh with 71 career goals.

Anna Segedi  – Minnesota Frost - Round Three | Pick Twenty-Two

Segedi, the 2024-25 team captain for the Saints, was picked 22nd in the third round for the Minnesota Frost.

"Anna is going to be able to play in a number of roles for Minnesota," said Wells. "She has been so reliable her entire career here and she will be able to carry that into the PWHL. No moment is too big for her as she has been to the National Tournament and the Olympics."

A standout center for the Scarlet and Brown and Olympian for Team China, Segedi played in 164 games over five seasons for the Saints and tallied 54 goals and 65 assists for 119 points. She scored 12 power play goals and 12 game winners and blocked 71 shots. She ranks 23rd on the PJ Flanagan '80 Century Club all-time points list with 119 points and 21st with 54 career goals. She earned Third-Team All-ECAC Hockey honors as a graduate student and as a senior, served as an alternate captain as a junior and senior and team captain as a graduate, and earned multiple conference honors throughout her career.

Hustler and Segedi join former Saint, Mae Batherson, who recently signed a two-year contract with the Frost.
