First-year goaltender Maja Helge was named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, presented by Just Play, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

"A nice recognition for Maja after her performance up in Maine," said head coach Chris Wells. "She has done a nice job acclimating to SLU and college hockey early on in the semester."

Helge logged her first collegiate shutout and win over the Maine Black Bears on Friday. She made 32 saves in the shutout effort, as the Saints won 3-0.

The Saints are back in action early this week as they host Clarkson in a school day game on Thursday at 11 a.m.
