Shea Goodwin and
Ryan Surhoff, along with junior
Savino Morelli, have been selected by their teammates, as captains of the 2025 St. Lawrence University football team.
"These three teammates have all earned this honor through their dedication to our sport, but also with their dedication to their teammates," said head coach
Dan Puckhaber. "Through the voting process it was made clear to me how many people these players influence outside of their own position group. All three have very different personalities and strengths, but I believe these differences will complement each other immensely and allow this trio to lead our group to a great season."
Goodwin finished the season with 29 catches for 319 yards, good for 11 yards a catch. His longest catch of the season was 66 yards and he recorded one touchdown.
Surhoff logged 63 tackles (29 solo, 34 assists) on the season, including nine tackles for the loss of 33 yards and two sacks for the loss of 17. He also recorded three pass breakups.
Morelli led the Saints squad with 68 tackles (27 solo, 41 assists) in 2024. He finished with six tackles for the loss of 19 yards, one sack for the loss of seven, one interception and one pass break up.
The Saints finished the 2024 season with a 3-6 overall record and open the 2025 season with a home game at Leckonby Stadium against the Norwich Cadets on September 5.
