The St. Lawrence University men's track and field team delivered a strong showing at the Middlebury Invitational, picking up several event wins and setting multiple personal and season bests.
Patrick Russell led the way with a dominant victory in the 3000-meter run, posting a season-best time of 9:40.73 to win by nearly 34 seconds. Cole Jacobsen finished second in the 3000-meter run behind Russell with a season-best 10:14.62.
Nick Lyndaker claimed first in the 800-meter run with a season-best 1:54.64, while the 4x400-meter relay team of Dylan Keating, Caleb Young, Kris Mellor, and Leif Harvey also earned top honors, finishing in 3:27.61.
In the distance events, Eliot O'Mahoney took second in the 5000-meter run with a personal-best 15:55.97, just ahead of teammate Griffin Roeder, who was third in 15:56.30. Roeder also added a fourth-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:06.70.
Leif Harvey picked up another podium finish with a second-place showing in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 51.64.
In the field events, Erik Schneider placed third in the javelin throw with a mark of 45.74 meters. Brendan O'Horo cleared 3.95 meters to earn second place in the pole vault, and Matthew Brinck recorded a personal best of 13.09 meters to take fourth in the shot put.
