The St. Lawrence University men's track and field team split its roster this weekend, competing at both the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University and the RPI Under the Lights Invite.
Patrick Russell represented the Saints at Bucknell, delivering a standout performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Russell finished 22nd in a competitive field, clocking a time of 9:27.62 to shave 11 seconds off his previous personal best.Â
Nick Lyndaker competed in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 14:51.71.
At the RPI Under the Lights Invite, the Saints' distance crew turned in a strong collective effort in the unseeded 5,000-meter run.
Aidan Fay led the group with a second-place finish in 16:07.23, followed by
Matt Serrano in fourth with a time of 16:29.72.
Brody Mindel and
Luke Calvin rounded out the top finishers for St. Lawrence in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
The Saints also saw success in the hurdles and field events at RPI.
Erik Marelli secured a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.49, and had a PR in his prelim when he ran for 15.43. It's his second consecutive week with a lifetime best in the hurdle event.
Adam Lee took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 59.46.
In the field,
John Mahoney cleared 1.75 meters in the high jump to earn a fifth-place finish for the Saints.
