The St. Lawrence University men's and women's track and field programs has announced the hiring of Brogan McGorray as graduate assistant coach for both teams, as the team makes another strong addition to its decorated coaching staff.

McGorray joins the Saints coaching staff after a standout four-year career as a varsity student-athlete on St. Lawrence's track and field team, where he competed in the high jump, hurdles, heptathlon, and decathlon.

A seven-time Liberty League Championships qualifier, McGorray served as team captain during his senior season and was recognized with the Most Improved Award as a junior and the Coaches Award as a senior. He walked across the Newell Field House stage in May 2026, earning a bachelor's degree from St. Lawerence with a double major in business and psychology.

"Brogan will be an amazing addition to both our staff and the campus community," said Saints men's track and field and cross country head coach John Newman. "While he will work primarily with our jump groups within our program he will also bring so much more with his passion for the sport, our program and St. Lawrence. This along with his experience in a multitude of events as a Saint gives us plenty of latitude in how he will be able to help support and mentor our current team."

"We're excited to welcome Brogan back to our program as a graduate assistant coach," said Saints women's track and field and cross country head coach Kate Howard. "Brogan brought tremendous energy, commitment, and character to our program as a student-athlete and we are excited to have him bring those qualities to our coaching staff."

Prior to St. Lawrence, McGorray was a two-sport standout at Marblehead High School in Marblehead, Mass., where he was a two-year varsity track and field athlete, also serving as team captain his senior season.

McGorray will assist the coaching staff with day-to-day program operations, athlete development, and meet-day logistics as he begins his graduate assistantship with the Saints.
