Nick Lyndaker Earns Second-Team All-America Honors with Ninth-Place Finish in 1500-Meter Final

Nick Lyndaker closed out his outdoor season with a ninth-place finish in the 1500-meter run at the NCAA outdoor championship, earning second-team All-America recognition in the process.

Lyndaker crossed the line in 3:47.48, a season best that fell just shy of the program record he set in 2025.

"Nick ran an amazing race today in what may have been the fastest, most competitive NCAA 1500-meter final in history," said Lyndaker's coach, John Newman. "He followed his race plan to 'T' and gave it all he had to close out his collegiate career. He positioned himself very well throughout the race and launched into a battle with almost the entire field over the last lap that just kept getting more and more intense."

"He is leaving behind an impressive legacy on both our program and the university having raised the bar in so many ways," Newman continued. "He has set new standards for performance and competitiveness over a number of events and what it means to be a competitor in our program and conference. I for one am honored, grateful, and humbled to have had the opportunity to help guide him throughout his extraordinary college running career."

The finish came in one of the most competitive heats of the weekend, as the top nine finishers were separated by just over three seconds at the finish. Ryan Hagan of Geneseo won the event.
