Valorant took on Fanshawe to kick off the final week of competition. The series was a close battle back and forth, with the Saints shining through in clutch situations. However, Fanshawe came out on top, closing the series 2-0.
League of Legends led off the matches for Tuesday night, taking on Dalhousie University. The Saints needed to close the series out 2-0 to secure the number one seed going into the NECC playoffs. After a close game one, the Saints pulled ahead and closed out the game. Game two, with the high energy, made the Saints look untouchable, and phenomenal calls from captain
James Fry led the team into the top spot.
Super Smash Bros. took on Southern New Hampshire University to hold onto their playoff spot. The Saints were unable to take down the one seed but were able to advance to the playoffs.
Overwatch has been in a close tie for seed two and had a doubleheader match. Their first match was on Post University, and the Saints were able to take a map but lost 3-1. However, the team was able to rally back for the second match, closing it out 3-0 against New England Institute of Technology. Overwatch was successful in securing the second seed for playoffs.
Rocket League took on the number two seed, Anna Maria College, in their final match of the season to close out the week. The two teams were battling for the one seed, so there were high stakes in the match. Both teams were able to win two games, causing the match to go to game five. The Saints were able to battle back knowing what was on the line and closed out the series 3-2 and secured the number one seed.
League of Legends and Rocket League will both be entering playoffs as the number one seeds in NECC playoffs. Overwatch enters NECC playoffs as the number two seed for their division. Super Smash Bros. also advances to playoffs as the number four seed for their division. New program record with the most teams advancing in the program's history.
