Esports Weekly Recap: Saints Cruise Through Semester, Weeks 3-5

Week Three Recap:

The Saints came back from their mid-semester break on fire finishing with an overall 4-2 record! League of Legends took their first loss of the season, falling 2-0. The Super Smash Bros team gain their first win of the season leaving Massachusetts College scoreless. Overwatch finally got to play their first game of the season, but did not disappoint by winning against Grims Blue 3-2, followed by their regular scheduled Friday game with a 3-0 sweep. Rocket League faced off against UDEM by getting their first sweep of the season improving to 3-0 and Valorant moved their game to Saturday, in which they fell Ramapo College 2-0.

Week Four Recap:

Another week another Saints positive record! Starting off with Monday, team Valorant fought hard, but eventually fell to Ottawa 2-0. Following the rest of the week the Saints did not drop a single game. Tuesday night we had back-to-back sweeps with the League of Legends team and Super Smash Bros team both establishing their presence in the Northeast Divisions with another win. To end the week, the Rocket League team put up another dominant effort in a sweep over the Queens Crusaders moving to 4-0 and continuing the undefeated season! Overwatch will look towards next week for a double header due to a reschedule. All the Saints are looking to make a playoff push with a little under half the season remaining.

Week Five Recap:

The Saints had a JAM-PACKED week with 10 total games and the team did not disappoint going 7-3! To start the week the team won five games in a row with Rocket League, League of Legends winning each of their games on Monday night. Tuesday night we had back-to-back sweeps with Valorant and Super Smash Bros looking dominant in their respective game. Thursday night the Rocket League team took their first loss of the season in a hard-fought battle against WPI Crimson, but they remain as the No. 1 seed heading into week six. Overwatch also took their first loss of the season against Trent Excalibur White. The heat picked back up Friday night with Super Smash Bros and League of Legends both getting a win and only losing one game. To finish off the week Overwatch fell 3-0 on Sunday. All of our Saints are in the playoff push going into the final two weeks of the season.
