Chris Downs Jr. sunk a turnaround to cut the Engineer lead down to four. The Saints got the lead down to three on a
Dan Anderson three-ball at 3:41, then chipped away further and got the lead down to two by halftime after
Tommy McMahon went to the line and dropped one in. It was 26-24 at the break.
The second half saw huge momentum swings as each team put together significant runs. RPI began the second half with a 14-2 run to take a large lead at 40-26. St. Lawrence needed a quick response, and they got it through an event larger offensive burst where they outscored the Engineers 21-3 via balanced scoring. Anderson,
Jlin Brown, and
Adam Dudzinski each had five points in the period as the Saints took a 47-43 lead with seven minute to play.
The Saints stretched their lead up to four before RPI tied it at 49 – then four made Anderson free throws gave St. Lawrence a 52-49 advantage with 1:34 to play. The Engineers white-knuckled it from there, as they bared down to tie it with 14 seconds left and force overtime at home tied 56-56.
In the extra frame, Anderson gave the Saints an early lead on a jumper. The Engineers had a late answer again, however, as Andrew Dieppe tied the game at 60 with just over two minutes to play. PJ Scalisi then hit a three-pointer to give RPI the lead, and they would not relinquish it.
Anderson's 20 points was a team high for the Scarlet and Brown, while Downs also reached double figures at 10 points. Dudzinski had 10 rebounds and seven points off the bench, also adding three steals.
St. Lawrence has one more game left in 2026, where they play WPI on December 30 in Worcester, Mass.
