The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team recorded several notable performances during the 2025 season, led by senior Nick Lyndaker and highlighted by multiple postseason qualifications and conference honors.

"What an amazing group of young men that we had to work with this fall," said Saints head coach John Newman. "They were incredibly selfless, dependable and dedicated.  They gave so much to the process of training, competing and culture building and I couldn't be prouder of all we were able to accomplish."

"We had some amazing highlights with strong team finishes at several meets and especially at Liberty Leagues and regionals," Newman continued. "Nick winning the conference in back-to-back years is special and to do it on our home course made it even more memorable. Pat earning his first NCAA qualification and joining Nick at NCAAs made for an incredible finish to an already full and successful season. We have some big shoes to fill next fall with the upcoming graduation of such an impactful senior class."

Lyndaker was selected as the Liberty League runner of the year for the second straight season following the 2025 campaign. He claimed his second consecutive Liberty League individual title with a winning time of 25:16.6, finishing four seconds ahead of the runner-up. As a team, the Saints were the runners-up for the championship banner to RPI, who ultimately placed fifth nationally.

Two weeks later, Lyndaker competed at the Mideast Regional, also hosted on the Hoff, where he posted the best regional finish of his career. He placed second overall in a time of 25:11.5, improving six positions from his eighth-place finish at the regional meet in 2024.

His runner-up finish qualified him for the 2025 NCAA Championship, marking his fourth consecutive appearance at the national meet. He was one of seven individual qualifiers selected from the Mideast Region.

During the regular season, Lyndaker won the Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational with a time of 25:14.8 and recorded a top-15 finish at the Paul Short Run White Race. At Paul Short, he placed 13th in a field of over 400, and ran a season-best eight-kilometer time of 24:44.9.

Patrick Russell also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship. At the national meet, Russell was the top St. Lawrence finisher, placing 160th with a time of 25:44.0 on the Roger Milliken Cross Country Course. Lyndaker followed in 175th place with a time of 25:49.4.

At the Liberty League Championships, Russell earned All-Liberty League Honorable Mention with a 15th-place finish in 26:10.3. Griffin Roeder also received honorable mention recognition after placing 21st in a time of 26:29.5.
