Men's Cross Country

Russell Leads Saints in 160th, Lyndaker 175th at NCAA Championships

Patrick Russell and Nick Lyndaker both competed in the NCAA championship Saturday morning, with both runners placing similarly among the strongest field of the season.

Russell was the top Saint finisher. He crossed the line in 160th place with a time of 25:44.0 on the Roger Milliken Cross Country Course. Lyndaker followed not far behind, placing 175th in 25:49.4.

"What a way to celebrate two of our seniors on the national stage as they complete their cross country careers," said Saints head coach John Newman. "Both Pat and Nick have come so far in their running careers since their arrival at St. Lawrence and I couldn't be more proud of them for embracing the national meet experience and giving their all on the course today. They both represented St. Lawrence, our program and all the Saints before them with honor, courage and devotion to this amazing but often grueling sport. Nick being a four time NCAA individual qualifier and Pat earning his first trip to the big dance made for a very memorable and special national championship."

The results were the final cross country appearances for both Lyndaker and Russell, wrapping up four-year careers in Scarlet and Brown. Lyndaker finishes his career as the fastest time record holder for St. Lawrence's Ronald. C Hoffmann Cross Country Course, and back-to-back Liberty League champion.
