Lyndaker Repeats as Liberty League Champion, Saints Finish Second on Home Course

Nick Lyndaker captured his second consecutive Liberty League individual title to lead the St. Lawrence University men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Liberty League Championship on Saturday at the Hoffmann Cross Country Course.

Lyndaker crossed the line in 25:16.6, becoming the first Saint to win back-to-back Liberty League titles since John Johnston in 2010 and 2011. His victory marked the 27th individual conference championship in program history.

"I'm absolutely thrilled with today's team performance and for Nick to capture back-to-back Liberty League individual titles," said head coach John Newman. "The team ran a very well-executed race under some true cross country conditions and held strong against the elements and our primary competition. Nick's bid for the win was masterfully executed and well timed. We hit all of our big goals for Liberty Leagues, and to do it on our home course made it all that much more special. The last couple of meets didn't go nearly as well as expected, so performing in front of our home crowd at the conference championship feels really good. We will recalculate our goals for regionals in two weeks and look forward to another championship on the Hoff."

Patrick Russell placed 15th in 26:10.3, and Griffin Roeder finished 21st in 26:29.5. Eliot O'Mahoney took 27th in 26:42.2, and Matt Serrano followed in 28th at 26:42.1. Russell and Roeder each earned Honorable Mention All-Liberty League honors, while Lyndaker was named to the All-Liberty League First Team.

St. Lawrence's strong showing secured its 52nd top-three team finish in 55 years of Liberty League competition. The Saints' primary team battle came against RIT, with both teams pushing the pace in wet conditions on the home course.

The Saints will return to the Hoffmann Course in two weeks when they host the NCAA Mideast Regionals on Saturday, November 15.
