Zach Amato was named the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The first-year Amato was a stalwart for the Saints this past week, coming up with two clean sheets to help the team to a pair of league wins. During the week, the first-year went toe-to-toe with Carter Kladstrup and outdueled him, stopping both shots he faced for the shutout against Clarkson. He would do the same on Saturday, stopping two shots against Bard for his second clean sheet of the week.
Nicholas Petrone joined Amato on the weekly honor roll after scoring a pair of goals against Clarkson and Bard to help earn the wins.
St. Lawrence returns to action on Saturday, October 11, when the team heads to Vassar for a 2024 Liberty League Championship rematch in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., at 1 p.m.
