The No. 23 St. Lawrence University women's squash team used five 3-0 wins to power them to a 7-1 win over Brown University on Friday night in Providence, R.I.
The Scarlet and Brown improved to 2-0 with the win.
At number one,
Angel Otshabeng took on Isabella Bin and won the opening game 11-6. After falling in game two to even the match, the first-year locked in an claimed 11-8, and 11-6 wins to take the win.
Numbers three through seven all took 3-0 wins, while
Azaa Regmi has no opponent at number seven to account for the seven team wins.
Madeleine Martin took on Zoya Unni at number three and won her match 11-4, 11-1, 11-3, while
Laura Franz took on Anji Friedbauer at number four and won 11-4, 11-5, 11-5.
Mariam Dodd occupied the fifth spot in the lineup and took an 11-3, 11-4, 11-1 victory over Sydney Rains.
Khissaiyia Spencer and
Emma Kahle took the remaining wins in the number six and seven spots respectfully in 11-minute matches. Spencer defeated Alexis Dahlberg 11-4, 11-2, 11-1, while Kahle beat Katarina Chen 11-2, 11-1, 11-0.
The Saints will be back in action tomorrow when the team heads to Middletown, Connecticut to take on Wesleyan University in a 12:30 p.m. match.
